Carefully review the following criteria before registering for this session. Attending a homeownership information session does not guarantee that you will receive an application for Habitat Homeownership. All attendees MUST pass pre-screening approval based on income and residency status. Please check your email for a message that states what you must bring to the session. If you do not bring the listed items, you will not be allowed to participate and must re-register.
Residency: Applicant(s) must live or work in Montgomery County for at least one year prior to application and be a permanent legal resident of the U.S.
Ability to Pay: Applicant(s) must have a credit report clear of any declared bankruptcies or foreclosures within the last 3 years. Applicant(s) must have verifiable household income between 30%-50% of area median income. Annual income per household size must fall within the guidelines listed below.
1 person -$36,500 to $37,500
2 people - $36,500 to $41,100
3 people - $36,500 to $46,200
4 people - $36,500 to $51,350
5 people - $36,500 to $55,450
6 people - $36,500 to $59,550
Housing Need: Applicant(s) must currently be living in substandard conditions and have a need for simple, decent housing.
Willingness to Partner: Habitat homeowners work in partnership with Habitat staff and volunteers and must agree to complete between 200-500 “Sweat Equity” hours based upon the size of applicant family.
