Blueprints New Volunteer information Session

If you are a new volunteer we ask that you attend our optional volunteer information session to learn about the many ways to volunteer with Habitat including construction.  Unless otherwise noted, sessions are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12noon and the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7pm at our office in Gaithersburg.   

To register please select Blueprints from the drop down menu below (All Events), select from the available sessions and click on the “Sign Up” button.  You will be prompted to enter your log in information or create an account if you are a new user.

Habitat ReStore

HFH-MC's largest volunteer need is at ReStore.  Volunteering at Habitat ReStore is a great way to be involved with Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat ReStore is almost entirely volunteer run – volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. Each volunteer possesses different skills and experiences that are assets to Habitat ReStore and its mission. 

Looking to do SSL or ACS hours?  ReStore is an approved organization!  Sign up below and be sure to print and sign (with a parent or guardian if under 18!) the volunteer orientation packet.

Habitat Construction Volunteer Registration

All volunteers must pre-register for build days.  Please carefully review the events listed below for construction days. Some days volunteers will work on a rehab or new construction project.  Other days volunteers will assist us with weatherizing and updating homes to great efficiency.  

**AGE RESTRICTIONS ARE IN EFFECT!**  Please read each site description to be sure age limits do not apply.  Some sites are ONLY 18+ and others MIGHT BE 16+.  All 16 and 17 year old MUST volunteer with a parent, adult, guardian that is also registered to work.

Blueprints Junior

At these meetings, youth learn about Habitat for Humanity's exciting work and what we are doing in Montgomery County to help make simple, decent, affordable housing a reality for all people.  Find out what YOU can do to help! Then, participate in a Habitat-themed activity.  Because we include service activities with the informative meeting, students will recieve SSL credit for attending BluePrints Junior.  SSL hours are not available for our regular BluePrints session. BluePrints Junior events are only held on special days.  Please visit this site for upcoming dates.

Think Beyond The Hammer!

Please volunteer for the cause and not the day and think beyond the hammer.  I believe that all of our volunteers should experience a build day on the construction site, but do not let that be the only wat you volunteer with HFH-MC.  We have very limited construction volunteer opportunities, so while you wait for a day to open, please volunteer in our area of largest need, Habitat ReStore!
